We deliver both the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Courses both Shore Based and Practical on-the-water courses, and Sail Canada cruising courses. We are a recognized RYA Training Centre and a Sail Canada Member School.

Come sailing with us! We offer RYA practical courses from ‘Start Yachting’ to ‘Yachtmaster Offshore’ Prep and Exams. We also teach Sail Canada sailing courses at the Intermediate or Advanced level. We also provide RYA theory courses at all levels from basic navigation and seamanship up to and including Yachtmaster Ocean. Our sailboat ‘Michaela’ is based at the Atlantica Hotel and Marina Oak Island in Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia. We sail the beautiful south shore of Nova Scotia - Mahone Bay, Lunenburg Bay, the La Have Islands and St. Margaret’s Bay.
We are a Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Recognized Training Centre, as part of a continuing collaboration between the Sail Canada and RYA.

Enhanced RYA Sail Training on a Volvo Ocean 60

With Spirit of Canada Ocean Challenges, Discovery Sailing can provide the RYA Competent Crew and RYA Watch Leader practical courses, as well as Ocean mileage-building and RYA Yachtmaster Ocean qualifying passages on a Volvo Ocean 60. RYA qualifications are known and respected the world over. Together we can provide the required instruction, experience & mileage building to take you to the top.
