Well, that didn’t last long… we had a cancellation which opened up a spot on the September prep. Within two days it re-filled. Our Yachtmaster prep weeks are pretty popular!
We just had a cancellation for our September Yachtmaster Prep and exam week, so a seat has opened up. You can go to http://discoverysailing.com/Yachtmaster-training/ and read all about it. Check it out!
Both of our Yachtmaster prep weeks in 2016 are full and now have a waiting list for 2017. This is truly a case of ‘the early bird gets the worm!‘.
If there is any chance of adding another I will post it and let those on the waiting list have first refusal.
And since it is now January 1, Happy New Year to you all!
We just filled the last spot on the July Yachtmaster Prep week. The second Yachtmaster prep in September has one spot remaining. Hurry before it is gone!
We just finished teaching this advanced navigation course Monday to Friday last week. It is a challenge for most, but also very rewarding. We will be starting to offer it on-line in the near future.
Besides the sail training, I have been pretty busy this year in my role as an RYA Yachtmaster Examiner. conducted a total of 21 exams – 3 for Yachtmaster Ocean, 13 for Yachtmaster Offshore and 5 for Yachtmaster Coastal. Locations were Florida, Rhode Island and Nova Scotia. It is great to spend time with so many good sailors.
Discovery Sailing in partnership with In Slocum’s Wake Training is offering the Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Offshore shore based theory course during the Fall of 2014 at the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron starting on 18 September 2014. It will run 3 hours on Thursday evenings through to mid December.
Anyone interested in obtaining the RYA Yachtmaster Coastal or Offshore certificate of competency should consider completing this course prior to attempting the five day on-the-water preparation course and practical on-the-water examination.
The RYA Celestial Navigation course is underway in Lunenburg. Some bylines are:
“The Joy of Sextant”
“Twinkle twinkle little star, how I wonder where I are”
